hey you! read this!

cno may sabi wala pera ang UST? may free trip nga mga players sa China & Hongkong. At nakakapag happy happy pa sila sa isang night bar sa malate.

kung UE din ang nagchampion may pupuntahan din sila. given na yun na pag nagchampion ang isang team, may trip sila somewhere. parang bonus nila yun. cheap pa nga ang hongkong at china kasi kung ateneo ang nagchampion sa europe daw sila. at ang alam ko sa china lang sila pupunta. kahit sa pba ganun na nagtraditon. pag champion ang isang team, may bonus silang trip somewhere. besides, OUR PLAYERS DESERVE IT.

happy happy sa malate? hindi naman libre yun party na yun. may 250 na entrance fee. at ang alam ko may charity or something na pupuntahan yun benta ng tickets dun. parang the players were just asked to help sell the tickets. and kung nagkaparty man kami sa malate.. e ano naman? again, OUR PLAYERS DESERVE IT.

this is the last time that i'll talk about the bonbon custodio issue. tapos na yun season. and besides, puro speculations lang naman ang mga lumalabas. sana lang kung totoo yun issue, maglabas ng statement ang UE. hindi yun sa text lang sinisimulan ang lahat. unfair sa UST players kasi they've worked really hard to be in and to win the finals.

i firmly believe that the school did not pay bonbon custodio. UST will never do that.

and please, hindi kami defensive. ang daming kumakalat na nagsasabi ng bad stuff about our school and our players sa text.. pati sa mga forums kung ano ano ang mga sinasabi about us.. natural lang na magreact kami.

patunayan niyo na lang muna na ginawa nga ng UST yun. pag napatunayan niyo, pahiya ako. sorry ako.

say whatever you want, it wouldn't matter. nanalo na kami.

and please, im not trying to make enemies here.. but if you want to, then so be it.

hindi naglaro si bonbon custodio nung game2 kasi suspended siya. hindi dahil nagdahilan siya na may sakit siya blahblah. nabasa ko yun sa dyaryo. at tyaka malalaman naman kung may sakit talaga ang isang player.

about dun sa issue..

hindi ako naniniwala na binayaran ng UST si bonbon ng 180k dahil unang una.. wala kaming pera pambayad. may utang pa nga ang UST sa faculty members at employees nila. kung wala silang pangsweldo sa mga empleyado nila, saan pa sila kukuha ng pambayad kay bonbon?

hindi naman ganun ka-uhaw ang UST sa panalo. proof: yun tungkol sa la salle issue.. UST una nakaalam nun pero wala naman ginawa ang UST.  kung gusto talaga nila manalo, di sana nilantad nila agad yun para mawala la salle. para mas madaling manalo.

nung game1.. 17 points nagawa ni bonbon. kung talagang binenta niya yun game di sana di na lang siya gumawa. para mas madaling mapatalo yun game.

hindi nga ganun kasuportado ng school yun team. dati tinanong si coach pido kung anung nangyayari sa kanila. kung bakit hindi sila nananalo.. tinanong kung anung kailangan nila.. ang sagot niya.. "unang-una, pagkain". pagkain nga hindi maibigay ng school sa sariling players.. sa player pa ba naman ng ibang school..

At first glance this looks like an attempt to put in doubt our win in the 1st game. Case of the grapes in Recto turning sour. But then again, the charge is too serious to be dismissed as sour graping especially since it involves the reputation and the future of one person. In essence, the claim may be possible. However, the curcumstances being floated are a bit implausable. Biases aside I don't think UST will ever resort to buying games. It's just too damned risky. It is also highly improbable that whoever offered to buy a game would call 3 players on the same phone and at the same instance as alleged by another poster in PEX. It is also highly stup!d of him to suddenly have a car and display immediately after receiving that call that went thru Arellano and Borboran as, again, alleged in PEX.

Yes, it is possible that somebody offered Bonbon but I don't think the curcumstances mentioned above are correct. And it was probably point shaving rather than deliberately dropping the game.

But even that were true we still beat them fair and square even without him, allegedly, helping us out.

I think the UE people should clear the issue once and for all. Their statement to the press were incomplete and uncertain. It seems that they don't have fullproof of their allegation hence they are very careful in their statements for they might be sued. These are all hershey's. And if I were Bonbon, I would also issue a statement to clear my name and turn the table against the UE admin. Anyway, I don't think he needs a diploma. He can have a bright future in the PBA.

If UE will not clear the issue, the UAAP board should compel them since gamefixing is a very serious allegation and questions the integrity of the league.

Needless to say, there is no doubt in my mind that the outcome would have been the same with or without Mr. Custodio playing for UE. And UST would never do such stupid thing to tarnish its reputation. We're not desperate to the point of cheating. And we don't need to cheat or need any help from the referees in order to win.

Of course the UST haters are having a field day in sullying UST's reputation. But ask pundit and they will tell you that that's not the way things work ni gamefixing. It is improbable that a team will put its reputation on the line for a mere basketball game. What this points to is the involvement of big time gambling syndicate and somebody mentioned this even before the Final 4 which makes this more believable.

Whether we like it or not, this has placed some cloud of doubt in the eyes of non-Thomasians. But I will never doubt that we could have beaten them twice over with or without Custodio.

Now let's prove this by beating the Eagles convincingly!

damn this bonbon thing...why is it that ust is the one who is linked to have paid bonbon...this is pure bullshit....now we have a credibility issue??damn the circumstances...these kind of issues make me sick....and to think they would make a credible institution like ust look like their the criminals....guys pardon my language but i've been in ust for about 8 years now....we were even fighting for the retake of nursing exams because of a leakage....that's how we do things..we're not cheaters....damn you bonbon for all of this controversy...

On my point of view, I'm not surprised at all if the alleged game-fixing is true.
However, putting all biases aside, UST being dragged as a party to such act? O c'mon! We won't even give condos, cars and other material stuffs just to lure players and now we're being accused of this barbaric act

 Asus, UST magbayad? I remember the time UST(admin) disciplined some Tigers by suspending players, at different seasons(Baguio, Lao, Jervy Cruz etc.), due to academics & at one time lending some of its players to the national pool - 1992(champion din dapat tayo nun ah!!), which resulted in miserable performances in the past. Di ganoon ka-desperado ang school natin manalo ano... I implore upon you guys from reacting to pexers who are just tryng to drag UST to the scandal that their own people created. Their SH!t just hit the fan & theyre trying to channel it to a diffrent direction. For me-I'm just very happy that this group of "uknown" Tigers reached the finals & its more than what most of us has expected of them.

 the UE admin should clear this issue, this is not an issue on the capacity of tigers winning the semis, we all knew they really worked hard for it. it's dishearting that the accusations were thrown to us, though not directly directed to ust. but this is an issue of integrity so once and for all, the university should release a statement for this.

the question is, if there was a confession by bonbon to the vp of ue which they claim, bat di nireport agad sa uaap board before the 2nd game started? sabi nga nila, may loophole yung accusations na yan

this is the same pattern of UE for game fixing during the time of Mike Cortez and spreading the fuss and eventually concedes because they're not hurting the player but their university. THIS IS THEIR TYPICAL TACTIC because they are afraid for a loss from the tigers, giving a stain on their squad. Been there done that pumaren, when will you ever learn.

for me lang....nde naman gagawin ng ust ang ganung bagay....and who the hell is bonbon anyway....bonbon lang siya may panapat tayo at un ay c jervy mas malaki at mas magaling....and i think nde naman gagawin ni bonbon un dba he is the team captain???? he would not jeopardize his career as a bball player para lang sa 180k....180k lang yan madali ng makuha pag nasa pba na...=)

I am currently reading the Bonbon Mystery thread at PEX... and i must admit that I am getting pissed.

Why do some people accuse their opponent of cheating or pandaraya whenever they lose? And why do they make tactics to have an acceptable excuse for losing a game?

It's not the Tigers fault why they are in for the finals. It's not their fault why UE lost the game. Neither it's their fault why Bonbon was not in the game.

The Tigers' fault? They want to win... fair and square.



One thing more, if it really is true that UST paid Bonbon then why did the controversy come out after the game and not before the start of the game? Is that to see first what the outcome of the game will be?

it's a given fact that bonbon leads the league in TOs... averaging more than 4 TOs a game... kaya 'di nakakapagtaka na magkaroon s'ya ng 7 TOs...

plus the game was too close... kung binenta 'yan... dapat 'di na umiskor si bonbon at blowout ang result...

yung "signature turnover" nya, last year pa yun diba. yung natatawagan sya ng travelling. yung step - dribble or whatever. (sorry naman. not a basketball genius.) hehe pero nakadalawang ganun ata sya sa game1.

share lang, im not sure, pero dun sa nanonood ng replay ngayon, may one point in the game na he (i think it was him) was asking their crowd to cheer (louder). i dont think that's something a person who wants to lose a game would do.

although syempre di malabong may $$$ involved dun sa pagkaka"suspend" sa kanya.

but i somehow feel sorry for the guy.

if he was indeed guilty, he was a good actor... ive watched the replay, nothing fishy naman, although i must admit i dont pay attention to him (eg. the way he shoots, dribbles,etc)

normal lang ang nakita ko, of course sa mga nakakakilala talaga sa laro niya, baka may nakita nga sila na hindi obvious sa isang katulad ko....

parang ang hirap tanggapin iyun.. just imagine jervy, or japs, or dylan, or kung sino pang tigers yun, maaccuse nang ganun... cant imagine na may makakagawa na thomasian nun... siguro yun talaga yung risk kapag kumuha ka ng "mercenary", meaning a player who has played another school/university before... buti na lang hindi practice sa uste ang ganun..
